Swansea Studios provides thirteen studios on a long-term basis to Swansea -based artists as part of its commitment to supporting local emerging practitioners.
The group, which reflects the diversity of artists and practices in Swansea, forms an integral part of the artistic community, with many of the studio artists being proactive and involved in the various grassroots activities and collectives taking place in the city.
Currently there are ten visual artists, one ceramicist and two glass artists occupying the studios.
Swansea Studios does not have a waiting list and due to limited spaces, studios are seldom available. Tenancy is by invitation of Swansea Studios Management Committee.
Like many towns and cities across the UK, there is a great demand for affordable studio space in Swansea. Should a studio become vacant, it will be advertised and potential future tenants invited to apply.
At present (October 2009), there are no studios available.
